    Just Perfect!!!!!!

One of the most beautiful silent spots on earth

Nothing really. I was absolutely content in the tranquility.
My grades follow an objective scale. But I must say that overall, this was one of my best travel experiences. The Estancia is in such a fantastic spot in a vast nothingness, it is just unbelievable. Also the great guest room with the big fire place is one of the most beautiful places to sit and have dinner anywhere. Overall you must be aware that this is a farm. It is not a luxury hotel. Breakfast is decent (not the best coffee and Spanish bread, i.e. not the best bread, but overall ok), dinners can be very good. Activities include riding, walking, bird-watching, or just sitting and soaking in the grandeur of creation. Also this is a great spot to go to Moreno glacier. I totally loved it and want to come back. Helas - 14000kms from Berlin ;-)

The property is quite far from the town, which effectively means you would need to either rent a car or depend on tour pickups to get around. If you do have a car, the property is on the way to the glacier, so in that regard the out of town location could be a plus. The one dinner we had at the property was very expensive for what was provided. We found out on the afternoon we were leaving that we were supposed to have been given a tour of the ranch property, a demonstration of sheep shearing, and some other activities, but we were never offered or made aware of this during our stay.
The breakfast offerings were very good. The property has a lovely lakeside setting. Our room was large and had very comfortable beds.

    Thoroughly enjoyable stay

This is a working farm and people should approach it in that context - do not go expecting new plumbing etc nor ready access to El Calafate itself. The food is good but perhaps could be improved with less choice and concentration on Patagonian food. However, these are minor quibbles - we would definitely go back and recommend it to friends.
The location and views are wonderful. The staff were very helpful and keen throughout. The explanation of the gaucho and sheep shearing were superb. Loved walking in the grounds.

over priced but a beautiful place

staff not very helpful - not a great sense of service we had to occupy 2 large rooms while everyone (couple, 2 kids and a baby) was perfectly fitting within the family room because we had booked by mistake in the same day (hotel was nearly empty) on line 2 rooms as it indicated 3 persons max while it could fit for 5 ! restaurant is overpriced
location - great view on mountains and lake beautiful estancia with horses and animals baby bed on demand great view in the restaurant area well located to take a boat in the morning in Puerto Bandera or to go to visit the Perito Moreno nacional park

This is an overpriced Hosteria & not worth the money even though the location is good. Stay in town

Their overpriced dinner menu. Charging US$50 for a late check-out after 10am.

The Patagonia experience I had always dreamt of!

Nothing we didn't like. But for an optimal experience I would suggest guests to rent a car as we did, to be able to move freely without depending on external transportation to explore the amazing surroundings
Amazing location immersed into nature and close to Perito Moreno glacier, wonderful staff and overall a great way to experience a true Patagonia feeling...well, at least this is exactly how I had always imagined it :) Also, lovely animals all around, horse excursion organized by the staff highly recommended!!

A beautifully situated Estancia with great staff. Would stay again.

In room privacy. Clear glass door into bathroom with a sheer curtain for privacy????.... Our dinner was disappointing. Just don't order the lamb cooked in the oven. We should have chosen something else and it would have been good.
Location and staff were both great. Owner of the Estancia was a very informative, helpful and friendly gentleman. El Calafate was out of petrol and so were we.

Bored staff, dark bedroom, toilet didn't flush. Food poor for dinner. Breakfast consisted of stale croissants/bread and lukewarm coffee. Wifi didn't work in the evening and intermittent in the morning, (staff on their mobiles all the time and inconvenienced to be asked for anything). This place could be lovely but very tired.... I don't normally write bad reviews as give a place the benefit of the doubt but this was pretty poor. A shame as the situation of the place is amazing and with enthusiastic staff and a little tlc it could be lovely.
    Stunning views.

    Impractical

There is no free way to get to the estancia, you need to take an expensive taxi ride. Same goes for food and drinks. You are totally depending on the estancia and for instance water is not for free. You need to buy it from the restaurant. When arriving straight from the airport there is no way to buy some groceries. I did not find this very hospitable. Also for all expeditions to the glaciar the location is very impractical as all tours start in El Calafate.
View and walks from the estancia were great, and also the fireplace in the common area.
